Un Mensaje Positivo a través del Recurso del Terror | Using Terror to Send a Positive Message
Gracias a la creciente popularidad de la Casa de Sustos, nos sentimos comprometidos de aprovechar esta oportunidad para hacer llegar un mensaje positivo a través del recurso del terror. Para este año quisimos brindar una propuesta innovadora en cuanto al concepto de la Casa de Sustos, por lo que llegamos a la conclusión de que los tiempos en que vivimos actualmente, también son terroríficos.
Así se recibió a la gente a la entrada del Salón Comunal de Playa Sámara, por medio de la proyección de los videos del artista dibujante y audiovisual, Steve Cutts.
Entre niñas y niños de todas las edades, adolescentes, entre madres y padres que acompañaron a sus hijos e hijas sumaban más de 200 personas. Desde antes de la hora de inicio ya se encontraban ansiosos por entrar.
Thanks to the growing popularity of the Haunted House, we wanted to take this opportunity to use terror to send a positive message. We wanted to offer an innovative Haunted House, and we came to the conclusion that the times in which we live now, are also terrifying.
Thus, people were greeted at the entrance to the Sámara Beach Community Center with a projection of the videos of the audiovisual artist, Steve Cutts, who satirizes the excesses of modern society.
Between the girls and boys of all ages, adolescents, and parents, the total number of entrants was more than 200 people. Many of them were already anxious to enter before the start time.
En esta oportunidad nos encontramos con que la humanidad ha sido aniquilada por la explosión de una bomba atómica, sólo sobreviven ciertos animales rastreros y zombies con mutaciones, en sus cuerpos se refleja el nivel de contaminación que heredaron producto de las acciones irresponsables de la humanidad.
La secuencia que atravesaron las y los participantes, pudieron evidenciar cuatro escenografías con personajes representativos de la temática. La primera estación consistió en mostrar el mundo basura cubierta de enormes cantidades de plásticos. En ella debutó la Rata, personaje adicto y dependiente a la comida chatarra y a sustancias artificiales como el glutamato monosódico.
The Haunted House shows that mankind has been annihilated by the explosion of an atomic bomb and only certain creeping animals and zombies with mutations have survived. Their bodies reflect the high levels of pollution they have been exposed to as a result of the irresponsible actions of humanity.
The participants came across four sets with characters representative of the themes. The first room showed a garbage world covered with huge amounts of plastics. The Rat debuted in this room, an addict dependent upon junk food and artificial substances such as monosodium glutamate.
Luego de pasar por el túnel de basura, en la siguiente estación se mostró lo que pudo ser el bosque, pero que por acciones de la deforestación y el uso indiscriminado de agrotóxicos, quedó desértica, en ella los humanos se extinguieron y quedaron únicamente zombies que mostraban alergias en su piel y los rostros desfigurados.
After the participants pass through the garbage tunnel, the next room showed what could have been the forest, but had become desert due to deforestation and the indiscriminate use of toxic agrochemicals. Here humans have gone extinct and only zombies remained. They showed allergies on their skin and disfigured faces.
Hacia la tercera estación nos encontramos con el centro de operaciones, el Laboratorio de los científicos.
At the third station, the participants find the center of operations, the scientific laboratory.
Dentro de sus planes están la creación de sustancias tóxicas para enfermar a la humanidad, así como la manipulación genética de semillas donde su principal método es el cruce de genes entre animales y plantas, para generar así los transgénicos.
Among its projects are the creation of toxic substances to make humanity sick, as well as the genetic manipulation of seeds. There is the crossing of genes between animals and plants, to create transgenic plants.
La ciudad tecnológica, la cuarta estación, mostró en ella los zombies poseídos y adictos al uso del celular o llamado también smartphone, ellos ya no tienen vida real sólo artificial.
Finally, the fourth station, the technological city, showed zombies possessed and addicted to smartphones. They no longer have real life, only artificial.
Madre tierra recibe a las y los participantes y les explica que estas acciones nos está quitando la vida hasta el punto de desaparecer la autenticidad de la humanidad, siendo cambiada por patrones de consumo de comida procesada, volviéndonos adictos a los chips, picaritas, azúcar y a una vida completamente artificial, dejando como rastro de su vida la acumulación de desechos que infecta los ríos, los bosques, los mares y la vida en general.
Mother Earth receives the participants and explains that these actions are taking over our lives to the point of erasing the authenticity of humanity. We are even being changed by processed food, becoming addicted to chips, picaritas, sugar and artificial substances. What is left is an accumulation of trash that infects rivers, forests, seas and life in general.
Entretejer varios elementos en un evento como este, como lo fue un excelente equipo de trabajo entre voluntarios que aportaron compromiso y dedicación así como apoyo en la logística y materiales, nos permitió crear una comunidad que da como resultado una integración de esfuerzos en una actividad positiva.
There was an excellent team, including many committed and dedicated volunteers, who contributed many hours to creating the Haunted House as well as helping with logistics and materials. Together, we were able to weave several elements together in the Haunted House. The community came together to make this a successful activity.
