From the Desk of the English Teacher

Hello everyone! My name is Andrea Ellis and I am the English teacher for CREAR in 2023.

I am having the most wonderful time with these lovely children! They make me laugh every day and we always have fun.

They have a great ear for a new language. Even though English and Spanish have the same alphabet, the letters make such different sounds. The children are very good at listening to me say English words and saying it with my accent. Sometimes they sound like native English speakers!

We have been learning a lot of vocabulary, and I’m sure it’s difficult to remember all of those words, but I know that seeds are being planted and they will continue to increase their retention of new words.

The students are great at saying the date, the weather, and exchanging polite greetings.

I am really happy to find that the CREAR kids really enjoy yoga! They are very good at calming themselves using breathing exercises that I teach in yoga classes.

I have never seen children who are so good at sharing. Every time a student brings a snack to class, they want to share it with their classmates and with me. It is really special to know children who want to share what they have, and it really warms my heart.

It is an honor to be trusted to teach the CREAR kids. Thank you to all of you for your support, without you this wouldn't be possible!

¡Hola a todos! Mi nombre es Andrea Ellis y soy la profesora de inglés de CREAR en 2023.

¡Estoy teniendo un tiempo maravilloso con estos adorables niños! Me hacen reír todos los días y siempre nos divertimos.

Tienen un gran oído para un nuevo idioma. Aunque el inglés y el español tienen el mismo alfabeto, las letras tienen sonidos muy diferentes. Los niños son muy buenos para escucharme decir palabras en inglés y decirlas con mi acento. ¡A veces suenan como hablantes nativos de inglés!

Hemos estado aprendiendo mucho vocabulario y estoy seguro de que es difícil recordar todas esas palabras, pero sé que se están plantando semillas y seguirán aumentando la retención de nuevas palabras.

Los estudiantes son excelentes para decir la fecha, el clima e intercambiar saludos educados.

¡Estoy muy feliz de saber que los niños de CREAR realmente disfrutan del yoga! Son muy buenos para calmarse usando ejercicios de respiración que enseño en las clases de yoga.

Nunca he visto niños que sean tan buenos para compartir. Cada vez que un alumno trae una merienda a clase, quiere compartirla con sus compañeros y conmigo. Es realmente especial conocer niños que quieren compartir lo que tienen, y realmente me enternece el corazón.

Es un honor tener la confianza de enseñar a los niños de CREAR. ¡Gracias a todos por vuestro apoyo, sin vosotros esto no sería posible!
