Buenas Noticias, CREAR!
On May 28th, our Executive Director, Andrea Keith, was invited to speak at Social Shot, an initiative developed by individuals and entrepreneurial organizations with the objective of generating a positive impact on the planet through social enterprises. Social Shot’s mission is to present social entrepreneurship to promote, encourage, and inspire ideas and projects.
This year’s theme was #BuenasNoticias which allowed participants to share innovative ways to communicate positive news and become agents of change for the community. Andrea’s presentation highlighted the socioeconomic problems affecting the communities of Playa Sámara and El Torito, such as lack of education and employment opportunities.
Andrea’s presentation showed how CREAR is actively working to help the local community by providing supplementary education in order to increase employment opportunities. CREAR utilizes several innovative and artistic approaches that empower the community to further their education. In the spirit of Social Shot, CREAR’s mission revolves around collaboration in order to inspire positive change. The conference also served as an opportunity to network with other like-minded social entrepreneurs. In working together, we can truly bring some #BuenasNoticias to Costa Rica!
El pasado 28 de mayo, nuestra Directora Ejecutiva, Andrea Keith, fue invitada a hablar en Social Shot, una iniciativa desarrollada por los individuos y las organizaciones empresariales con el objetivo de generar un impacto positivo en el planeta a través de las empresas sociales. La misión de Social Shot es dar a conocer la iniciativa empresarial social para promover, estimular e inspirar ideas y proyectos.
El tema de este año fue #BuenasNoticias la cual permitió a los participantes compartir formas innovadoras de comunicar una noticia positiva y convertirse en agentes de cambio para la comunidad. La presentación de Andrea puso en perspectiva los problemas socioeconómicos que afectan a las comunidades de Playa Sámara y El Torito, tales como el bajo nivel educativo y la falta de oportunidades de empleo.
La presentación de Andrea mostró cómo CREAR está trabajando activamente para ayudar a la comunidad local, ofreciendo educación suplementaria con el fin de aumentar las oportunidades de empleo. CREAR utiliza varios enfoques innovadores y artísticos que permiten a la comunidad para continuar su educación. En el espíritu de Social Shot, la misión de CREAR gira en torno a la colaboración con el fin de inspirar un cambio positivo. La conferencia también sirvió como una oportunidad de establecer contactos con otros empresarios sociales afines. Al trabajar juntos, podemos realmente traer algunas #BuenasNoticias a Costa Rica!
